A Reflection: Proving the Will of God

April 18( The Faith I live by ; EGW Writings)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2.

Reflection:

God’s travail

God became a man to prove that the will of God and the commandments are possible to obey. That when we put our hearts and minds to it and accept God as our personal savior, we are capable of rejecting temptation and doing what is right and good. Trials are part of life’s journey when you commit to God because Satan doesn’t want us to put our loyalty to someone he envy with. Even Jesus experienced Satan’s temptations during His fast for 40 days and 40 nights in wilderness (Judaean Desert). “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to Him and said, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.’ Jesus answered, ‘ It is written: Man should not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand o the highest point of the temple. ‘If you are the Son of God, ‘ he said, ‘throw yourself down. For it is written: He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ Jesus Answered him, ‘It is also written: Do not put the Lord you God to the test.’ Again the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. ‘All this I will give you,’ he said, ‘if you will bow down and worship me.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.” Matthew 4:1-11

“His love and faith to God
prevails that
He can resist those
temptations.”

Satan will interfere on whatever way or opportunity he can get and make our lives miserable and be the reason to turn our lives from God. Yet trials, burdens, and other problems shouldn’t be the reason of our weakness. He was once a man who also faced such problems. But his travails cannot be compared to ours. He experienced the worst yet He never turned His eyes from God. His love and faith to God prevails that He can resist those temptations. Only to God and His words, He clings. That is how God proved to us that doing what is right and good, and obeying His words and commandments even in hardships is not impossible ❤️
